My Holiday

Yeah, this blog is re-activated! It had been really a long time for not posting anything.

Yeah, i have holiday now. I am happy for this opportunity to rest more and meet with my old friends, yet i am a bit bored now because until now there is still no any 'real' meeting or gathering. It is the result of expecting for too much fun of holiday during the period of having final exams.

Anyway, i finished all my studio works already. Although some improvement or upgrade is allowed to achieve higher marks, i don't care about that already, i am really in the mood of holiday now. Besides, i am satisfied with my work done already, as long as i have done my best, there is no point for me to struggle for more marks. If a person who judges my works is not qualified, then her lower grade may not represent my level of study. 'A' from other people may not be the real 'A'...

Ok, this is my model...

It is openable and can be separated into two, for better view of interior details

This is how it fits into the surrounding context, the site is near the Masjid Jamek, Kuala Lumpur.

Another entrance point to my model at the riverfront. This is an urban design project. Basically, my manner of responding to surrounding context is by continuing the consistency of the adjacent building, and then create a sudden gigantic void and a few outstanding structure to break the norm, and so there are leaded to be the entrance points.

In short, this is a youth center project and my design is based on comic, with my concept of youth center-- the Dream Factory, so this model ends up to be complex and colorful.

Complicated, because it is a tapestry kind of design and it can be said to be a mishmash that is rich in lots of fascinating elements, like what you can see in comic. Without those elements, it is not what it supposed to be.
Colorful, because it is a dream factory for youth with variety of hopes, by creating suitable atmospheres and functional spaces, youth will feel that they are concerned, they are hugged. This point is to reflect youth nowadays are suffering lots of restraints from society view of so-called norm and over concern from parents that become bind. And when the time that youth starts to have real dreams, they are not really concerned. So, this point became the motif and initiative to generate my ideas.

Basically, this is what about my youth center project. ^_^
